Communication Guide:  

• If you are going to miss a MANDATORY event:

• Email the GKA with the reason of your absent

• CC the officer whose event you are missing

• You must follow these steps. If you fail to do so, your absence will be considered unexcused, no exceptions. The GKA has the right to request additional proof in order to validate your absence. If you do not provide the GKA with the requested documentation in 48 hours, you will receive an automatic unexcused absence.

Missing Events and Negative Purposes:

• If you are missing an event you signed up for:

• Email the director of the event 2 hours prior with your reason

• CC the GKA

• If you do not email the director within 2 hours of the event, you will receive an automatic negative purpose. After you send the email, the officer will respond indicating whether you will receive a negative purpose or not.

Missing Chapter:

• If you are going to miss chapter:
• Email the GKA 2 hours prior to chapter
• You are allowed 2 unexcused absences per semester. Therefore, your first 2 absences you do not have to provide a reason, any time after 2 absences you must provide a reason.
